(Compilation Mono) 'This is a limited edition mono boxed 4LP set put out by Columbia Record Club. The catalogue number R4M 5015 is on the side of the box. But, nowhere on the box does it indicate who the record company is. The box front has a large '80' on it and there are dance scenes in the two hollows of the '8'. In the hollow of the '0' are the words: Biggest Hits by the stars who made them famous'. Outside of the '80' are the names of the artists in different colored letters on a black background. The box rear is plain black. Each of the four records has ten tracks per side, and has its own title - Record 1 is called '20 Spotlight Hits' and is on the Columbia Record Club label. Record 2 is called '20 Orignal Winners of 1964' and is on the Roulette Record label. Also, records 3 & 4 are on Roulette; Record 3 being titled '20 All-Time No. Hits', while Record 4 is titled '20 Big Boss Favorites'. Each sleeve also has the titles on the front and showing each selection (artists and their songs). The reverses of the sleeves are plain.

Each record has its sides numbered 1 & 2 and not 1 through 8 like so many other boxed sets of 4. With this in mind when I received this album I thought it to be 4 mismatched records stuffed into a box. Recently I did some research and found several others on the net. Different cat#'s have been found (e.g. R4M 5016 and R4S 5016) but, they all have the same contents and criteria.

There is no date on this release but articles I have read have this release somewhere between 1965 and 1971.'[discogs][]
